Brazilian printing school SENAI granted free access to a Gallus ECS 340

Based on an initiative by Ronaldo Baumgarten Junior, the specialist technical school SENAI Blumenau and Gallus have signed an agreement granting the school free access to a Gallus ECS 340. In return, Gallus will have the opportunity to use the machine for live demonstrations in a professional environment for customers from all over Latin America.

Thanks to the impressive performance of the two granite-based Gallus ECS 340 at Baumgarten in Blumenau, Brazil, and the ever greater demand for skilled workers in the entire Santa Catarina region, Ronaldo Baumgarten Junior initiated a collaboration between SENAI – Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industrial de Santa Catarina (http://sc.senai.br/) and Gallus to promote training for young Brazilian print technicians.

This autumn, Gallus will install a label printer from the latest generation – a Gallus ECS 340 – free of charge at SENAI in Blumenau and allow the school to use it. Since its launch, this model has been the highest-selling and most cutting-edge label printer with a short web path. Now, students will be able to learn about the machine’s operation and functions in the school’s own facilities, ensuring they are well prepared for their professional future.

As a result, courses at the SENAI school can be tailored to the actual requirements of printshops in the Santa Catarina region of southern Brazil. Due to their continuous growth, large industrial printshops like Baumgarten that are among the leading international providers of labels constantly require new, well-trained print technicians. Santa Catarina is an up-and-coming area and the second strongest economic region in Brazil. The cooperation between SENAI and Gallus initiated by Ronaldo Baumgarten Junior will enable workers to be trained directly on the machine for the first time and be integrated straight into the industry following completion of a training course lasting several years. This will provide a lasting boost to the competitiveness of companies in the region.

Once installed this autumn, the Gallus ECS 340 will go into operation immediately and the first students will begin their training before an official celebration at the start of 2016. In addition, the training centre at the SENAI school in Blumenau will be open to any label printers in Latin America keen to find out more about the Gallus ECS 340.
