Portuguese company VOX was founded in 1975 and now employs 130 people. Its reputation as a leading manufacturer of high-finish wine labels extends far beyond the local region. Until the turn of the millennium, founder and owner Manuel Ribeiro focused exclusively on wet-glue labels produced on sheetfed offset presses. VOX was very quick to spot the trend towards self-adhesive labels in the high-finish wine label segment and invested considerable funds in setting up a production operation for these labels. Five Gallus TCS 250 presses are now among the equipment printing high-finish wine and oil labels.   more

Midway through 2009, GEWA Etiketten GmbH switched its prepress for self-adhesive labels from the conventional process with films to computer-to-plate (CtP) exposure. Since then, the company has been the only one in the world to expose letterpress, flexographic and offset plates and the Gallus Screeny printing plates on a single CtP output unit – the Lüscher XPose! 230 4FLEX.   more

Printing cylinder sleeves are made from plastic or aluminium. Both have their advantages, but a crucial benefit of aluminium sleeves is the fact that they age more slowly than plastic ones. Ageing has a significant impact on sleeves' mechanical properties, which has a visible effect on print quality.   more

At the beginning of this year, Daniel Zeidler took charge of Customer Services and also joined the Gallus Group Management Team. The 38-year-old Swiss national is married and has a son. Zeidler has broad-based experience, in particular in the field of supply chain management, and is no stranger to managerial responsibility.   more
