At Labelexpo Europe from 24 to 27 September 2013 in Brussels, Gallus will be using its Gallus Print Shop concept to demonstrate how the benefits of digital and conventional printing methods can be combined to produce labels time-saving and more cost-effectively. The Gallus Print Shop at Labelexpo will feature the new Gallus ECS 340 with the “Plus” update package, the Linoprint L digital drop-on-demand (DoD) system from Heidelberg with the Gallus ECS C digital finishing solution, and the Gallus EM 430 S with the high-tech short-web concept. The Print Shop will combine and control the entire order planning and processing workflows of the three machine systems via central Cerm MIS workflow software. In cooperation with its industrial partner Siegwerk, Gallus will also be demonstrating the benefits of LED UV drying technology on the Gallus EM 280 using the latest UV LED inks from Siegwerk.   more

At the upcoming Labelexpo Europe 2013, Siegwerk will be showcasing its newly developed special UV inks for curing under LED light at Stand 11P10 on a Gallus EM 280 with state-of-the-art LED lamps. The 6-colour combination press from Gallus comprises one screen printing unit and five flexographic printing units and will be put through its paces twice daily at the Siegwerk stand. Gallus will be the only manufacturer demonstrating live label production that combines the benefits of digital and flexographic printing and makes exclusive use of LED UV technology.   more

The Gallus Group will be presenting the Linoprint L drop-on-demand system from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG at Labelexpo, which will be held in Brussels from 24-27 September, 2013. This will be the first time that Gallus has exhibited the technology at a trade show since it acquired the sales licence in June 2013. Two of the digital printing systems in different working widths will be given the task of producing challenging variable short runs at the Gallus Group stand, 5B50. While the 210 mm system and the Gallus ECS C will be integrated into the Gallus Print Shop for hybrid label production, the 315 mm system will give visitors an insight into the higher print quality made possible by the new digital front end.   more

Following a three-year flexographic printing apprenticeship, Roger Oberholzer obtained the accompanying vocational qualification and completed an additional training course for polygraph technicians at the Polygraphic Academy in Zurich (HF TGZ). He then spent 12 years at Gallus Ferd. Rüesch AG working in the field of printing technology. About a year ago, he took on the new role of Manager Print & Workflow Support at the same company, drawing from his wide-ranging experience to meet the day-to-day challenges he faces.   more
